Positions are flexible with several work mode options to include being fully remote, in-person, or hybrid availability if you live in the Northern Virginia or DC/Maryland area if desired.
*****Duties*****
- Provide crisis intervention and counseling services to individuals experiencing mental health issues
- Conduct patient assessments to determine appropriate treatment plans
- Provide specialized care for individuals with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
- Utilize cognitive behavioral therapy techniques, along with an integrative approach to help patients develop coping strategies and improve their mental well-being
- Work with individuals with neurodivergent abilities to address their unique mental health needs
- Implement a variety of therapy techniques with rationale based on client specific needs
- Provide counseling and support for individuals dealing with a variety of mental health difficulties
- Conduct group therapy sessions to facilitate peer support and encourage social interaction
*****Qualifications*****
- Possess a valid counseling license or working towards completion in the Commonwealth of Virginia
- Demonstrate experience in patient assessment and crisis intervention
- Specialized knowledge in PTSD care and trauma informed cognitive behavioral therapy techniques preferred, but not required
- Familiarity/or willingness to become familiar in working with individuals with neurodivergent abilities
- Proficiency in using the ICD-10 coding system for diagnosis and treatment planning
- Knowledge of various therapy techniques and their application in counseling settings
- Experience in providing counseling for individuals dealing with a variety of mental health difficulties
- Strong understanding of medical terminology related to mental health conditions
- Ability to/ willingness to learn to effectively facilitate group therapy sessions
