Berkeley Lab's Biological Systems and Engineering (BE) Division and the Helen Wills Neuroscience Institute at UC Berkeley is looking for a Research Associate to join the Bouchard Lab!
In this exciting role, you perform basic data analysis and experimental procedures in neurophysiology data collection. Your specific responsibilities include conducting behavioral experiments and recording from rat cortex with novel micro-ECoG arrays.
What You Will Do:
- Collect neurophysiology data from rat cortex.
- Perform basic data processing.
- Prepare visualizations of data results.
- Assist with rat behavior experiments and chronic surgeries.
What is Required:
- A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience with rodent behavior.
- Effective oral and written communication skills including the ability to accurately document results.
- Good interpersonal skills including the ability to work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary laboratory environment.
What We Prefer:
- A Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent knowledge/training) in a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) field or a field directly related to Neuroscience.
- Experience with scientific programming languages (e.g., C/C++, Python, and Matlab).

- This position has a targeted salary range of $21.20-$30.83 per hour for job code 588.1. Salary for this position will be commensurate with the final candidate's qualification and experience, including skills, knowledge, relevant education, certifications, plus also aligned with the internal peer group.
