Neuberger Berman has been managing fundamental, active equity strategies for over 75 years. The Global Equity Research department makes investment recommendations to the firm’s numerous portfolio management teams, and manages multiple equity products. Neuberger Berman employs dozens of equity analysts, across industries and geographies. The research department conducts deep, fundamental research on hundreds of companies, developing proprietary forecasts and industry views. The department is looking for a Research Associate to assist with due diligence on potential investments.
The position presents a unique opportunity to work directly alongside equity research analysts on a wide variety of bespoke projects. For instance, the associate may work with analysts to build financial models or track companies’ progress on business goals. Other projects may involve designing and administering surveys, conducting channel checks, or performing field research. Leveraging this data, the associate will work with analysts to develop unique insights about companies and the industries in which they operate –
and, eventually, form investment theses.
Responsibilities:
The Associate will get first hand exposure to Fortune 500 management teams, industry experts, and sellside analysts, while learning the fundamentals of investment management in a collegial environment. A steep learning curve is anticipated, with direct daily engagement with investment professionals.
Requirements:
- Strong academic credentials; all majors are welcome.
- 1 - 4 years of experience in investment banking or research.
- Research experience (journalistic, academic, or otherwise) is preferred.
- Ability to multi-task while maintaining attention to detail.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Curious and intellectually honest.
