About the Role
With the input from business and technology, the Enterprise Architect defines, establishes, and maintains the technology infrastructure, applications, and services’ portfolio to ensure it supports established enterprise goals. This role also keeps such ecosystem updated. The Enterprise Architect stays updated with the latest technologies, trends, and regulations that could benefit or impact the Business and Technology at PREMIER Bankcard, and serves as mentor to other Architects and the rest of the Technology team. The role partners with business leaders to understand their vision and goals, while educating them on advanced options that could meet or exceed their business objectives.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate understanding of basic architecture documentation (i.e., work product) methodologies.
  • Assist Director (and above) with identifying opportunities for improving systems that support business processes.
  • Ability to help provide guidance and support to customers and stakeholders on the use of the enterprise system.
  • Ability to apply emerging and evolving technologies to current and future business needs at the enterprise, operational and tactical levels.
  • Ability to provide support in identifying opportunities to improve enterprise-level systems to aid business processes and utilize emerging technologies. 
  • Assist in difficult application of information security/assurance policies, principles, and practices to all components of the enterprise architecture.
  • Prepare simple but accurate data design and architecture reports for management.
  • Examine and identify basic data structural necessities by evaluating client operations, applications, and programming.
  • Offer support by responding to basic system problems in a timely manner.
  • Ability to lead design sessions of new and existing systems.
  • Assist with the assessment of implementation procedures to ensure they comply with internal and external regulations and law.
  • Provide support to leadership ensuring existing systems and new projects comply with security standards.
  • Ensure governance principles are followed on existing systems and new projects.
  • Recommend solutions to improve new and existing systems.

Skills and Qualifications

  • A degree in Computer Science or a related field in highly preferred
  • Seven years of IT experience in various IT roles, including Systems Architecture. Experience with SQL, Data Sourcing, Enterprise Data Management, and Modeling is highly preferred. Knowledge of Business Strategy, and IT Strategy Development; and knowledge of Audit, Compliance, and Risk (Identification, Mitigation/Eradication), Cloud computing, API, and Contemporary Technology Stack is also preferred.
  • Enterprise Architect Certification is also highly preferred (examples: Enterprise Architect, Senior Enterprise Architect, Distinguished Enterprise Architect, Enterprise Architect Fellow, AWS Certified Solution Architect, Professional Cloud Solutions Architect Certification, The Open Group TOGAF 9 Certification).
  • Infrastructure, Applications Development, Windows Domain and Database experience/knowledge is necessary to perform essential functions and tasks of this role; Windows Domain and Database experience/knowledge is highly preferred, as well as experience with Fiserv, Provenir, Validify, Snowflake and Starburst, for example.
  • Candidates must have the capacity to learn, adapt to change, and become proficient quickly. Ability to handle stress, exercise self-control, adhere to company policies and procedures and uphold The PREMIER Way are also necessary.
