Director, Regulatory, will strategically lead and manage the regulatory strategy for all current and developing products in our dynamic portfolio of candy brands and products. That would include any impact in terms of compliance, regulatory monitoring and anticipation. Manage a professional regulatory team of Regulatory Experts and Specialists to achieve organizational goals.

Advise senior leadership team how key business and innovation strategies intersect with regulations and design strategies to mitigate key risks and leverage business opportunities arising from the evolving regulatory environment. Proactively research, be subject matter expert, and educate team in emerging trends and future regulations as they are being defined and ensure compliance to all regulations.

Ways you will make a difference

 

Focus on Regulatory Compliance and Performance to ensure product compliance, locally and internationally, be the business interface for commercial needs

Provide technical expertise, influence technical standards, harmonization, change monitoring and horizon scanning

Working with team/direct reports evaluate regulatory complex situations and guide appropriately.

Working close with legal in analyzing regulatory issues and potential grey area situations

Manage cross functional and technical regulatory topics and represent Ferrara to defend complex positions internally and externally

Leadership, planning and support the process of preparation, submission, and approval of registration applications for product authorization and claims.

Participate and represent organization in trade associations to gain current information regarding regulatory changes and contribute to building the industry's agenda as appropriate.

Ensures adherence to all company policies and procedures to deliver the Ferrara Quality Promise.

Lead the team to further build understanding and expertise of how Ferrara can comply with applicable regulations and laws and identifies/responds to regulatory challenges and opportunities in our space. Dedication to lead and mentor people development with a goal of building a world class team of regulatory experts.

Experiences that will support your success

 

A Bachelor, Master's or Ph.D. Degree in Food Science, Engineering, or Sciences.

10 plus years of successful and related experience in regulatory including focus in food industry

Significant experience in managing, mentoring, coaching, and working with regulatory professionals

Adept in crisis management, risk assessments and special situations communication

Experience leading and growing teams and enabling results through others

Knowledge of food safety principles required (HACCP certification, FSVP etc)

Strong network within the industry as evidenced by working on Trade Organization technical committees.

Quality presentation abilities and strengths in making recommendations based on research and applicable to business growth

Computer software skills to include Microsoft Office applications and system SAP/ERP abilities.

Comfortable with ambiguity and detailed problem solving

Strong project management skills and ability to drive work to completion

Certifications preferred include: FSMA PCQI and GFSI (ISO, BRC or SQF)
