Form of workPosition Summary: Under the direct supervision of a technician supervisor and pharmacist, performs medication related tasks such as packaging, preparation of all forms of medications, record keeping, and all non-judgmental aspects of drug distribution.
Major Responsibilities:
- Performs duties in assigned practice area. Required to work in other practice areas, as staffing requires.
- Processes orders using pharmacy computer system. Delivers patient medications to medication room areas and stocks automated medication stations (Pyxis machines).
- Familiar with pharmacy technology and equipment. Capable of troubleshooting routine technical problems.
- Prepares and packages most forms of medications. Prepares sterile products using aseptic technique in compounding parenteral nutrition, antibiotics, and other IV drugs.
- Maintains inventory including floor stock medication. Reorders, restocks, and monitors expiration dates of all medications.

Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have successfully completed a Board-approved Pharmacy Technician-training program by obtaining a passing score on a Board-approved Pharmacy Technician assessment exam.
Experience/Skills:
Required:
- Proficient in math. Knowledge and ability to use a computer for data entry.
- Must be able to follow oral and written instructions with accuracy, efficiency, and dependability.
