Registered Nurse (Rn)

Chester County Obstetrics and Gynecology, a care center of Axia Women’s Health, has been a proud supporter of the local community for over 40 years. We are the largest OB/GYN practice in the area, with a philosophy centered on caring for the whole woman, attending to her physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs. We provide a full range of obstetric and gynecologic care including prenatal care and pregnancy classes, infertility evaluation and treatment, minimally invasive surgery, and osteoporosis evaluation and management. We welcome women of all ages and stages of life and strive to provide up-to-date medical care with skill and compassion.  We are currently recruiting for a Registered Nurse (RN).

The person hired will be responsible for the coordination of patient care and an important participant in policy and procedure implementations as they relate to medical services for nursing staff, primarily via the telephone. Other job duties include but are not limited to:

• Evaluates and assesses patient’s health care needs based on patient’s signs and symptoms utilizing established triage protocols and guidelines
• Obtains appropriate input and direction from the provider as needed to determine best clinical course of action and recommendations for specific patient health care
• Accurately documents symptoms/complaints, nursing assessment, advice provided and patient/caller response. Follows policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure consistency and departmental effectiveness as well as improve health care outcomes of patients/callers and their access to appropriate health.

Patient Care:

• Maintain patient records by accurately recording medical history, vital statistics, etc., and scanning related documents.
• Checking schedules and organizing patient flow to help minimize wait time and efficiently communications delays to patients.
• Accompanying patients to exam/procedure room and assisting patients as needed with walking transfers, dressing, collecting specimens and preparing for exam.
• Collecting patient history and assisting Provider with various procedures and screenings.
• Relaying instructions to patients/families and providing pertinent information.

Patient Records:

• Sending and receiving patient medical records, obtaining lab/X-ray reports and hospital notes to provide Provider with complete patient history
• Completing forms/requisitions as needed to ensure patient records are accurate and claims can be properly billed.
• Adheres to Patient Confidentiality Policies and HIPAA regulations.

Quality Control and OSHA:

• Setting up instruments and equipment according to department protocols, cleaning exam/procedure rooms and equipment between patient visits to maintain infection control, maintaining and cleaning sterilizer according to scheduled maintenance program, and restocking exam/procedure rooms.
• Adhere to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines and standardized quality control methods to provide the highest quality of patient care.

Qualified candidates will have experience as a Registered Nurse, a degree from an accredited nursing program, a current New Jersey certification as a Registered Nurse and CPR certification, and a minimum of 1 year experience working in a medical facility, preferably in an OB/GYN setting. Knowledge of CPT coding, lab specific order sets, and eCW are beneficial.
