- Assist with the development and implementation of an effective organization-wide Infection Prevention and Control/Employee Health Program.
- Conducts surveillance and research activities designed to improve organizational performance in the areas of infection prevention and control and occupational health.
- Serves as liaison to other government and community organizations.
- Prepares epidemiological studies with statistical analysis involving infectious diseases, employee health, hospital programs, and system effectiveness. Utilizes data in conjunction with performance improvement to improve patient outcomes.
- Investigate infectious disease issues, and manage outbreaks and/or exposures in the hospital.
- Develops, reviews, and revises hospital policies/procedures and programs.
- Manages critical data and information including paper and electronic databases. Communicates data analysis effectively to the Infection Control Committee, hospital organization, and external agencies.
- Coordinates and implements recommendations of the Infection Prevention and Control Committee.
- Assesses Educational needs of both patient and employee populations, develops appropriate curriculum; determines educational strategies and provides instruction to meet the needs of those needs in the areas of Infection Prevention and Control.
Qualification
- Valid Washington State License to practice as a Registered Nurse.
- Graduation from an accredited school or professional nursing and two years of professional nursing experience.
- Preference is given to the applicant with three years of professional experience.
