Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care in the Endoscopy unit
- Perform assessments, plan and implement nursing interventions, and evaluate patient outcomes
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
- Monitor vital signs and observe for any changes in patient condition
- Assist with procedures such as endoscopies and colonoscopies
- Educate patients and their families on post-procedure care and follow-up instructions
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient information, including medical history and progress notes
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive patient care
Qualifications:
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of MA
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an acute care setting, preferably in Endoscopy or a related field
- Proficient in ICD-9 coding and documentation
- Knowledge of Hospice palliative medicine principles and practices
- Ability to catheterize patients as needed
- Competent in assessing vital signs and recognizing abnormal findings
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus
- Familiarity with family planning services and counseling
- Understanding of enteral feeding methods, including tube feeding administration
- Knowledge of laboratory procedures and specimen collection
