Key Responsibilities:
- Pre-Procedure Assessment: Conduct thorough patient assessments, including reviewing medical histories, allergies, and current medications to ensure safe and appropriate care.
- Patient Education: Provide clear and concise pre-procedure instructions to patients and their families, addressing any concerns or questions they may have.
- Procedure Support: Assist physicians and other team members during endoscopic procedures, ensuring the availability of necessary equipment and medications.
- Patient Monitoring: Continuously monitor patients' vital signs, anesthesia levels, and overall condition during procedures, promptly addressing any changes or complications.
- Post-Procedure Care: Care for patients in the immediate post-procedure phase, including monitoring vital signs, managing pain, and ensuring a smooth recovery process.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed electronic medical records, documenting all aspects of patient care, including assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
- Infection Control: Adhere to strict infection control protocols and maintain a clean and sterile environment in the endoscopy unit.
- Emergency Response: Be prepared to respond to emergencies and provide life-saving interventions as needed.
- Patient Advocacy: Act as an advocate for patients, ensuring their rights, preferences, and concerns are respected and addressed.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, technicians, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in state of practice
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience, with [Insert Number] years of experience in endoscopy or a related field
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications required

Endoscopy RN
13 week assigment
40 hrs
10 hrs days, 7a-5:30p
Rotating call every 5th or 7th weekend and 1 weekday per week
BLS & ACLS certs required
IN or multi-state license
2 yrs of recent Endo experince required
The endo department at the AAHC requires candidates to be experienced, ambulatory centers are not comparable and those nurses don't usually work out with us. We have very interventional procedures that GI knowledge is required. Cerner and Bronchoscopy experience is an absolute must.
