Job Summary
The APRN, CNP, provides primary care with an emphasis on preventing illness and health promotion to students at the Student Health Service. This position must competently assess, diagnose, and treat common and complex adult health problems, teach and counsel about health concerns, and coordinate care, including referrals and consultations.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- RN license with CNP certification (Adult, Family Practice)
- DEA certification
- Prescribing authority
- Interpersonal communication skills necessary to confidently treat students while teaching themhow to manage their healthcare
Preferred Qualifications
- CPR certification
- Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse population
- Knowledge and experience with college health
- Credentialed with insurance plans
Additional Requirements
This position requires a passing background check under National Practitioner Data Bank. It is expected that the employee maintains the ability to pass applicable background check throughout employment. The employee must notify the supervisor no later than the beginning of your next shift of any charges, allegations, or convictions that may impact their standing under the applicable background check.
This position requires a valid, applicable driver's license and DVS records check with an acceptable rating.
In accordance with the Minnesota State Vehicle Fleet Safety Program, employees driving on college/university business who use a rental or state vehicle shall be required to conform to Minnesota State'svehicle use criteria and consent to a Motor Vehicle Records check.
Work safely at all times, which includes but is not limited to, participating in and completing all required safety trainings, as well as performing all job tasks in accordance with Minnesota State University, Mankato policies and procedures utilizing appropriate tools, equipment and personal protective equipment.
