Stratas Foods LLC is the leading supplier of fats and oils to the Foodservice, Food Ingredients and Retail Private Label markets in North America and is a producer of quality bulk and packaged dressings, mayonnaise and sauces. Stratas Foods was formed in October 2008 as a 50/50 joint venture between ACH Food Companies (ACH) and Archer Daniels Midland (ADM).

The Regional Business Manager has both direct and indirect buying account and broker management responsibilities in a region, which is usually multiple states, major metropolitan areas and/or strategically important markets. This position does not have any supervisory duties relating to direct resources. Accounts and brokers are managed as assigned to insure compliance with corporate objectives and directives. The Regional Business Manager is expected to be minimally supervised, possess superior organization and planning skills, have incredible energy, show the ability to understand priorities and execute business functions communicated to them by their Manager.
Region: Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, West Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
Location: This is a remote position and the ideal candidate will be located in the Ohio area (Cincinnati or Cleveland).
Responsibilities
- Focused on the Development of both Stratas Branded and Admiration portfolio product opportunities through value added selling and premium value demonstrations such as fry testing, MDS cuttings and customer education on cost savings. Represent total Stratas portfolio to FS trade including Distributor Private Label and Custom products
- Hands-on responsibility for sales development and overall profitability through key account, local and regional chain development in addition to developing the street trade through the Broker Network and directly with Operators and Distributors utilizing proper time balance among all three.
- Utilize brokers to achieve assigned goals and objectives through direct selling support, direction, motivation and training in order to be effective with our products and gain favorable support. Lead our go to market strategy of being Distributor friendly and Operator focused.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with distributors and develop independent distribution partners for Stratas branded, Admiration and Private Label
- Present regular business reviews and negotiate marketing programs/activities and manage contracts and agreements
- Participate in sales meetings, attend food shows and other activities required to grow the business.
- Support operator sales growth through timely lead follow up, fry test management and mayo, dressing and sauce cuttings; providing product solutions, market intelligence, contract management, and technical expertise that adds value for our customers.
- Perform multiple tasks surrounding the business; i.e. sales analysis, promotions, deductions, expense controls, marketing funds, competitive information, etc.
- Learn more effective selling techniques to maximize effectiveness. This includes product knowledge as well as skill enhancements; i.e. professional presentations, organizational skills, etc.
- Support and regionally direct the One Foodservice strategy to include funneling of commodity opportunities as well to Distributor brands managers and inside sales to achive overall corporate goals and objectives.
- Be proficient in Salesforce.com and utilize daily for most effective opportunity management and new business development.
Competencies
- Effective presentation skills are essential to ensure maximum performance; Must be able to learn as well as train.
- Strong leadership with Broker Network is a must; Manage complexity with broker requirements along with personal directives is the key to an organized business approach.
- Understand business dynamics of selling propositions and defend ferociously; Balance cost vs. value effectively across the Branded Portfolio. This is a required acumen.
- Handle diversity of tasks and manage them effectively - especially timely and effective communication.
- Be proficient in virtual methods of communication.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Sales or a business related field.
Related Experience: Three (3) years Foodservice experience.
Equipment/Software Skills: Skilled in Microsoft Office applications.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations: Driver's License.
Physical:
Must be able to fly/drive to markets. No major exceptional physical requirements.

This position must be able to respond orally and in writing to common inquiries and complaints from customers and members of the business community. The position must be able to effectively present information to groups, individual customers and associates from the top levels of management to the smallest of operators. The position must be able to listen effectively in order to understand and respond accordingly. The position must be able to smell and touch to work effectively in supporting evaluation of customer food initiatives and quality measurements.
Mental/Reasoning:
Must be able to handle diversity of tasks and manage them effectively. Sending written correspondence to all interfacing aspects is critical to success.
