The City of Pewaukee has an opening in our Parks and Recreation Department for a full-time Recreation Coordinator. The pay range is $25.92-27.41 per hour. The Recreation Coordinator is responsible for planning, organizing and implementing recreation programs for the City and Village of Pewaukee. The Recreation Coordinator will assist the Recreation Supervisor, Director and clerical staff with office duties and/or additional department needs. This position must be available for the daily scheduled times of programs and can include evenings.

The Pewaukee Parks & Recreation Department serves the City and Village of Pewaukee by providing parks, open space, and recreation and leisure opportunities to the community. The Department oversees 240 acres of parkland divided among 15 sites in the Pewaukee area that are owned either by the City of Pewaukee or the Village of Pewaukee. The majority of recreational programming occurs at the parks and park buildings. It is our goal to provide the highest quality programming suited to the needs of the community.

Examples of the duties of this position include –

  • Plan, develop, develop curriculum as needed, supervise and evaluate community recreational programs, youth and adult sports and athletic leagues, activities, including a multi-site childcare/summer camp program.
  • Schedule, and arrange for the reservation of, necessary City, Village and/or School District facilities and off-site locations for operation of programs. Plan and evaluate effective use and care of facilities and monitor facility usage schedules.
  • Assist Recreation Supervisor in developing and monitoring program budget.
  • Partner with Waukesha County, Pewaukee School District and other social services organizations in the design and provision of inclusive and accessible programming for those with disabilities.
  • Work with neighboring communities, Waukesha County, school district on cooperative programming opportunities.

Qualified applicants will have a Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Management, education or closely related field with course work in recreation required or equivalent combination of education and experience. They must also have a valid driver’s license, and an acceptable driving record.
