Wages: $14.00 per hour

Gateway SRA is seeking applicants for the part-time position of Recreation Aid. The Recreation Aids main focus of responsibility will entail assisting in the organization, special events, after school programs, child development and fitness programs.
Description of Responsibilities:
- Recreation Aids provide direct service and supports to children and adults with and without disabilities.
- Assist participants to actively engage in a variety of recreation and/or sports programs.
- Aids report to the Program Coordinators for each program.
- Aids work irregular hours, including split shifts, mornings, afternoons, evenings and Saturdays.
- Aids maintain safe, stimulating environment for program participants.
- The Recreation Aid is expected to uphold the Mission & Values of the Ray Graham Association.
Qualifications Required:
- Prefer at least 1 year of experience working with persons with disabilities in a recreation setting, community agency, school or employment setting, etc.
- Must be at least 17 years of age.
- High School diploma/GED preferred.
- All employees are required upon hire to provide a Motor Vehicle Report obtained from the Secretary of State and have a valid Illinois driver's license (only for staff 21 years of age or older).
- Excellent verbal and written skills are essential.
- Must clear a CHIRP and CANTS background check
- Must be able to lift and transfer individuals (75lbs.)
