The Team
The Records Management team is comprised of dedicated, hands-on individuals who are passionate about public service. This team works with different sections of the Department of Planning and Building to uphold and foster a culture of innovation, collaborative partnerships, supportive teamwork, and exceptional customer service.
The Role
The Secretary plays a multi-faceted role in the Department of Planning and Building and serves as an expert resource regarding public hearing bodies, records and documents and compliance on a wide range of legal requirements. The successful candidate will embody the County values of integrity, collaboration, professionalism, accountability, and responsiveness. Typical tasks and duties include:
- Assist with project application data entry accurately
- Gather data and process performance reports
- Assist with the pre-application meeting coordination
- Assist with planning application referrals
- Assist with coordinating staff and customer training
- Assists hearing body members with meeting legal requirements
- Composes correspondence; completes special projects, as assigned
- Oversees day-to-day office support services to ensure effective and efficient operation of the Records Management section while supporting to staff

Secretary II: Graduation from high school or possession of a G.E.D. certificate. Possession of a Certificate of Proficiency in Secretarial or Clerical studies or its equivalent from an accredited institution may be substituted for one year of the required general clerical experience.
In addition, Either A: Five years of progressively responsible general clerical experience OR B: Three years of experience in a journey-level secretarial position.
