Responsibilities
- Ensure that all loaders have the proper equipment, and that the equipment is in operational order.
- Ensure that all dock doors, dock plates, and trailers are properly checked in accordance with all safety / food safety standards prior to entry.
- Report any safety issues, trailer damages, infestation, maintenance issues, or other discrepancy immediately to the operations supervisor.
- Coordinate trailer moves as needed. Ensure all moves are communicated to the operations clerk.
- Ensure that all milk/dairy product is inspected and loaded in accordance with company standards.
- Audit donut rings and donut shells to warrant proper count prior to loading. Ensure that all counts are documented on each route sheet in accordance with company guidelines.
- Examine packed pallets for any stacking errors. Report findings to operations supervisor and assist with corrective procedures
- Delegate housekeeping assignments and ensure all assignments are completed prior to team members departure for the day. Assist in the orderly maintenance & general housekeeping of the warehouse.
- Ensure that all dock doors are closed and latched prior to departing for the day.
- Safely operate all equipment utilized to perform tasks associated with role.
- Perform daily safety inspections on material handling equipment.
- Maintain proper and safe lifting techniques.
- Maintain Company standards for safety, attendance, and conduct.
- Immediately advise supervisor of any unsafe conditions or accidents.
- Attend all required Company meetings.
- Follow NDCP's Good Distribution Practices.
- Cross train in other functions and perform other warehouse duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Ability to work flexible days and hours. Schedule may include weekends and holidays
- Ability to operate shrink-wrap machine and manually shrink-warp product
- Ability to operate powered industrial trucks (fork lift, pallet jack, high lift)
- High school diploma or equivalent education
- Prior experience with shipping departments preferred
- Knowledge of Microsoft office (Excel, Word and Outlook)
- Knowledge of Manhattan, TLM and SAP
