Job description

DST is looking for a Receipts and Reporting Supervisor. This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits, including health insurance, paid vacation, paid sick time, paid holidays, as well as retirement.
** This position has a recruitment range of $39,456 - $52,720 **

This position will:
  • Serve as State contact for contracts associated with the Receipts and Reporting Unit.
  • Manage attendance, behavior, and performance of assigned staff, and conduct performance counseling and participate in disciplinary process.
  • Perform talent acquisition tasks when vacancies occur, interviewing candidates and selecting new hires, as well as providing and ensuring formal and informal training for new and existing staff, while identifying new training needs as required.
  • Develop and implement work plans and conduct performance reviews.
  • Revise website content and update as needed, ensuring legal and communication reviews are complete prior to facilitating publication.
  • Revise e-Update communications according to project timelines, ensuring legal and communication reviews are complete prior to facilitating publication.
  • Facilitate the update and maintenance of desktop guides.
  • Extract data from the Unclaimed Property Management System.

The primary purpose of the Unclaimed Property Division (UPD) is to collect unclaimed and abandoned property; to ensure that any unclaimed property remitted to the Escheat Fund is reunited with the rightful owner if possible; and to invest the monies collected to maximize the greatest earnings for utilization by the North Carolina Education Assistance Authority in order to provide grants and low interest loans to North Carolina students in state supported schools of higher education.Qualified applicants must possess, and application must clearly reflect work experience that demonstrates the following:
  • Demonstrated ability to research, collect data from multiple sources, and analyze data.
  • Demonstrated ability to compose and organize ideas logically in multiple formats such as letters, memos, reports or presentations.
  • Demonstrated ability to edit content constructively.
  • Experience researching and resolving problems to make independent decisions as needed.
  • Experience interpreting rules, regulations, policies, procedures and laws.
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve problems and develop recommendations for unprecedented issues.
  • Working knowledge of item tracking programs such as Excel.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide direction, guidance, and feedback in a constructive and actionable manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and deliver on the job training.
  • Demonstrated ability to research, identify, and resolve discrepancies.
High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and four years of progressively responsible administrative/office management experience, including one year as a lead worker; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
