Rare / Antique Bookseller

At NW Book Rescue, we take pride in our unwavering commitment to rescuing thousands of books from ending up in landfills each week. Our mission is to give a second chance to as many books as possible and deliver the best value possible to our caring and eco-conscious customers.

We are currently developing a department for vintage and antique books and other media (vinyls, comics, video games, CD, DVD, and more!). We are looking for some with a passion for old books or other physical media who want to grow and learn with us, listing rare and interesting items to online marketplaces where collectors and enthusiasts can find their new favorite gem.

Job duties for this position will revolve around sorting through large quantities of bulk books and media, searching for rare, antique or otherwise valuable items, and then photographing and listing those items for sale on our eBay store.

This position requires:

- Efficient use of PC, applications and webpages; all of our listing and research is done online so high levels of computer literacy are a must. Candidates should have the ability to efficiently find your way around most word processing software.

- Excellent organizational skills and sense of urgency

- Attention to detail in conditioning, listing, and research

- Familiarity with vintage books, music, vinyl, and/or comics is a huge plus, but not a requirement.

- Any product photography experience would be great, but isn't at all required

- basic research skills to determine the value of books or media to be listed

We operate as a small team, where each member plays a vital role. There won't be constant oversight or reminders to stay on task, but productivity will be primary measure of performance. If you are self-directed and results-focused, you'll thrive in this environment. If not, this might not be the right fit for you.

The compensation for this position falls within the range of $14 to $18 per hour, dependent on prior experience and aptitude. As our business continues to expand, there will be ample opportunities for personal and professional growth within our team. Ideally this position will evolve into a management role as the eBay store and team grow.

We would prefer that this role is full-time, 8 hour shifts M-F, however we are open to part-time and alternative scheduling possibilities for the right fit.

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
