Our cardiac interventional radiographer will assist physicians with minimally invasive, image-guided procedures to help diagnose and treat heart and blood vessel diseases without surgery. This person will act as a key member of the Cardiac Cath Lab team and will support all functions of the service line. Working under the direction of the Physician and the Radiology Technologist will prep and scrub in during Cardiac Cath Lab procedures, Angioplasty and stent placement, Implants, Peripheral procedures, and equipment such as but not limited to, atherectomy and thrombectomy, Knowledge of hemodynamics and monitoring/documentation of the case.
Performs various imaging procedures in accordance with the applicable scope and standards of practice of a radiologic technologist. Works effectively with patients and families and maintains a cooperative relationship with inter-departmental personnel by performing the following duties.

Key Responsibilities
• Conducts examinations for diagnostic interpretation, evaluates procedures and makes recommendations for improvement.
• Integrates previous imaging studies, laboratory results, patient history, and medical records to optimize exams.
• Assists RN and Physician in providing care to patients in potentially critical situations.
• Serves as a backup for clinical team members as needed by controlling patient flow, performing EKG tests, obtaining blood pressure measurements, documenting vital signs, and administering injectables.
• Operates radiographic equipment, implements safety standards, and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment.
• Determines proper technique through the selection of voltage, current, and exposure time.
• Educates patients regarding procedures, equipment, and exam to ensure patient understanding and cooperation.
• Able to adapt and vary work routine as needed and willing to cross-train in related job areas.
• Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.
• Performs related administrative duties including completing necessary forms, labeling films, and film envelopes, and maintaining procedure logs.
