POSITION SUMMARYThe Barista will execute the vision of the Tin Building through serving hot and cold beverages according to the Tin Building's authentic recipes or through the guests' special requests. The ideal candidate needs to be knowledgeable on all beverage menu items and products, provide top quality, fast paced service and have the ability to work at various Quick Service Restaurants counters performing cross functions.ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIESPrepares and serves authentic coffees, espressos, and other cafe drinksProvides guests with exceptional service and product details, such as the blend of coffee or preparation descriptionSets up stations and replenishes displays neatly including separation of allergens (nuts, wheat, etc.)Ensures all items are dated and following First in First Out (FIFO) standardsWeighs, grinds, or packs coffee beans for guests according to their specificationsCleans and sanitizes work areas in accordance with supervising health agency of the areaWorks across all Quick Service counters serving a variety of Bakery and Cafe items Operates a cash register and ensures accuracy of cash drops and authenticity of billsMaintains a calm demeanor during periods of high volumeComplies with department policies including quality, health, safety, and sanitation standardsMust be able to have open and flexible availabilityPerforms other duties as required or assignedKNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:Knowledgeable and enthusiastic about coffee, tea and drink preparation and productOutstanding communication and guest service skillsFood Handling License preferredAbility to perform simple mathematical calculations and follow directions for all production1+ year barista experience on a manual espresso machine preferredHigh school diploma preferredMust be passionate, entrepreneurial, and dedicated to success.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Ability to perform the essential job functions consistent safely and successfully with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standardsAbility to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standardsAbility to lift and carry items weighing 10 - 30 pounds on a regular basis and up to 50 pounds on a regular (oroccasional basis).Ability to stand for prolong periods of timeAbility to operate equipment within the QSR departmentsMoving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly frequent movements from place to place within the store.Bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms, and hands above shoulder height frequently, or otherwise move in a constantly changing environmentClimbing steps regularly.The base pay range for this position is a range of $17 - $21 per hour.
