SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinate tasks and programs with management, government authorities, customers and plant associates.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Maintain, facilitate review of, edit and update as directed, regulatory policies, such as HACCP, SSOP and GMPs.
- Maintain FSQSP documentation submitted to Customer and regulatory agencies.
- Maintain Customer Quality Manuals
- Maintains Calibration programs.
- Maintains GMP audits, Glass and Brittle Plastics audits and Internal Audit systems.
- Support the manufacturing sites during Government, Third Party (AIB, Siliker, etc.) and Company Sponsored Internal Audits.
- Organize BNA intranet site so it is “user-friendly.”
- Lead both FSQSP and GMP/Safety Audit programs.
- Lead Pest Control program including liaison for Pest Control Service provider
- Prepare company communication via WEM board
- Participate and lead HACCP team meetings
- Works with site government POC to ensure effective working relationships with appropriate regulatory agencies, including providing inspection and corrective action reports.
- Coordinates with Regulatory specialist to ensure effective working relationships with appropriate Organic Certification companies.
- Acts as back up SQF Practitioner
- Acts as back up for QA Supervisor in their absence.
- All other duties assigned
- In the absence of the Quality Systems Supervisor, the Quality Manager or Quality Systems Manager will function as a back-up.
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT REQUIRED
- Obey GMP’s and PPEs for production areas.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or Training
- Desired: Bachelors Degree (4 year Degree) from an accredited institution.
- Preferred: Certified SQF Practitioner
- Preferred: Certified in HACCP

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to develop technical presentations and/or training modules that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors. Fluent in the English Language (Bi-Lingual, Multi-Lingual a plus.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Must have mathematical analysis experience and capability.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc.,) in its most difficult phases. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
A) Must have proven keyboard/typing proficiency and accuracy
B) Must have experience in the quality assurance and the operations departments within a FDA, USDA and FSIS manufacturing environment.
C) Prefer experience in packaging perishable goods.
D) Multi-tasking necessary
- Excellent organization skills are required.
- Working knowledge of US Government regulations and programs utilized within a food manufacturing environment.
- Computer literacy in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Photo Manager, Adobe Writer, Digital Photography a plus
