We're currently looking for a Quality Supervisor - Trim & Chassis to join our team in Smyrna, TN
Job Summary
The Quality Supervisor manages a group of Quality technicians in their assigned area. Provides technicians with the tools needed to perform their assignments, including process information, job allocations, training, equipment and other needed support; prepares reports and charts showing assigned area's progress regarding safety, production, throughput, scrap, attendance and budgetary compliance; ensures departmental goals of safety, quality, cost and time are met and maintains an atmosphere of trust and positive morale for the assigned zone; writes standard operation sheets for each job in assigned area.

- Provides the Kaizen shop's mid to long term project planning direction and support along the way.
- Reports zone progress regarding production, quality, safety and budgetary compliance.
- Promotes a safe work environment and maintains an atmosphere of trust and positive morale for the assigned zone.
- Leads planning for changes or modifications to zone processes & equipment.
- Works cross functionally with Maintenance, Engineering, and MH for shop improvements.
- Supervises and provides leadership, coaching, guidance, training and staff development; interviews and selects employees; plans and evaluates employee performance; counsels and disciplines employees as necessary; recommends termination when appropriate; and monitors time and attendance of subordinates.
- Interfaces and communications with internal departments to ensure production targets are met and provide countermeasures for zone concerns.
- As necessary, performs other related duties of which the above are representative.
Minimum Qualifications
The following qualification statements reflect the minimum skills and abilities required of the qualified applicant.
Job Knowledge and Skill:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to develop and analyze reports. Detail oriented with project planning experience. Minimum of 2 years work experience preferably in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a highly automated or automotive manufacturing environment.
Supervisory/Leadership Experience:
Experience in a work leader role coordinating the work of other employees or contractors. This includes training new employees, assigning work, and checking the timeliness and quality of work. May have provided input into performance reviews. Most time in work leader role would have been spent performing work similar to that performed by the people whose activities the position coordinates.
Education:
High School Diploma is required, and a related degree from an accredited four-year college is preferred.
Computer Skills:
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, spreadsheet, and other computer applications to output reports with similar, non-creative formats is required.
PREFERRED DUTIES BASED ON SPECIFIC NEEDS
- Experienced in lean material flow solutions.
- Experience working cross functionally with Maintenance and Engineering teams.
- Experience lean material flow equipment to enhance processes.
- Experience managing the daily operation of a kaizen shop.
- Experience planning budgets and working within a budget.
- Experience in implementing AGC's to assist material movement.
