Gulf Electroquip is located in Houston, Texas, USA. We specialize in new, remanufactured and repaired AC and DC motors and generators for the oil & gas, dredging, paper, petrochemical, mining, utilities and transportation industries. Our power equipment can be engineered and manufactured to meet the specific needs of our clients. All our engineering is performed at our facility making sure that exact specifications are met.
Duties & Responsibilities
The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for ensuring that the Company’s manufactured products meet customer, engineering and relevant Code standards and specifications. The responsibilities of this position include:
- Audit and monitor quality requirements in accordance with Red Claw / Gulf Electroquip quality policies and customer specifications
- Perform incoming material inspections, teardown inspections, assembly component inspections, machined component inspections
- Complete inspection reports by the job order package and report results
- Complete non-conformance reports and communicate status to applicable personnel
- Perform accurate electrical, mechanical, physical and visual inspection of raw materials, components and sub-assemblies as per inspection plans and customer requirements using micrometers, calipers, multi-meters, and electrical testing apparatus (training will be provided to use electrical testing apparatus as needed)
- Read and interpret specifications, blueprints, weldment drawings, machining drawings and assembly prints
- Monitor Corrective Actions and preventive actions per quality management system
- Manage measurement devices, including re-calibrations as required
- Perform material kit audits
- All other duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications:
- Detailed understanding of Manufacturing Methods and Procedures, Manufacturing Quality, ERP System Utilization, Information Analysis.
- Understanding of quality management and measurement.
- Comfortable with working against established goals and metrics.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, and excellent root cause analysis skills
- Ability to read and understand blueprints (fabrication, machining, and assembly drawings)
- Good understanding of GD&T
- Experience working in an ISO 9001:2015 environment a plus.
- Prior experience with rotating equipment a plus – motors, generators, pumps etc.
- Ability to work independently
- Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Bi-lingual English/Spanish is a plus
Physical & Safety requirements
- Sitting, bending, standing, walking, 8-10 hours per day.
- Able to lift 50lbs. (may be different for office /administrative employees).
- Must comply with all safety and PPE requirements.
- Exposure with production environment
