Job Description
Quality Inspectors are responsible for the testing and inspection of products at various stages of production process in compliance with applicable codes and standards. This Quality Inspector role is on our Weekend Shift, which is Friday/Saturday and Sunday 5am-5pm. This role comes with a $2.50/hour shift differential.
Qualifications
Preferred candidates will have background knowledge in inspection, be able to read a tape measure and blueprints, and use basic hand tools as well as a caliper and micrometer. Other combinations of formal training and experience may be considered.

- Set up equipment to perform tests, and conduct tests on parts, following procedures established for specified tests performed
- Mark test parts with appropriate language per job specifications
- Mark tested parts to indicate conforming and defective areas
- Prepare reports outlining findings and conclusions
- Initiate accept/reject decisions and know when to call more qualified individuals for marginal evaluations.
- Inspect and calibrate test equipment; document dates and results
- Ensure use of safe work procedures and wear all required PPE. Promptly report all injuries and unsafe conditions.
- Regular and on-time attendance for full scheduled work shift
- Maintain a favorable working relationship with coworkers to promote a cooperative working climate conducive to maximum productivity, efficiency and effectiveness
- Participate and support Continuous Improvement initiatives
- Maintains 5S guidelines
- Communicate relevant information and concerns positively and effectively to others in timely manner
- Perform work at the appropriate pace to maintain quality and productivity requirements
Marginal Functions
- Requests equipment and supplies for the purpose of completing assigned work
- Enter job data in production tracking system
- Seek and perform alternate, productive tasks to keep busy during unexpected down time
- Perform other duties as assigned or requested
- Use crane, hoist, forklift or other material handling equipment to transport materials and product into and out of the work area as required.

Knowledge, Experience, Skills, and Responsibilities
- Proficient knowledge in interpreting blueprints, mechanical drawings, schematic diagrams and welding symbols
- Computer literate; particularly in word processing, spreadsheet, email, and shop floor control, applications
- Ability to solve practical problems and make decisions within a set of guidelines
- Ability to read and understand required internal manufacturing paperwork
- Ability to electronically record production information
- Effective and appropriate oral communication skills including legible handwriting in English
- Work with others as part of a high performance team
- Adapt to changing work priorities
- Able to work under limited supervision using standardized practices and/or procedures
- Follow standard MMC and customer specified welding procedures and practices
