1st Shift: 5:00am - 3:30pm, Monday - Thursday
2nd Shift: 3:30pm - 2:00am Monday - Thursday
This position works to ensure the quality of manufactured products at Illume through inspections of in-process manufacturing and finished goods. This position requires attention to detail and excellent documentation skills.
Five Key Accountabilities:
- Perform in-process line audits to ensure manufactured product meets all quality standards and production has all required documentation filled out completely and accurately
- When quality issues are discovered, work with the Production Line Lead(s) and Supervisor(s) to arrive at corrective action(s) to resolve
- Pull all required retains from production during the in-process inspection
- Perform inspections of finished goods as well as any reworked or sorted product as required to ensure quality standards are met
- Ensure that all inspection paperwork is filled out completely and accurately
Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform in-process line audits to ensure manufactured product meets all quality standards and production has all required documentation filled out completely and accurately
- Assist in training and coaching of production personnel
- Report any deviations from standards to QC Supervisor
- Participate in pilot candle runs.
- Ensure all safe working procedures are followed and observed
When quality issues are discovered, work with the Production Line Lead(s) and Supervisor(s) to arrive at corrective action(s) to resolve
- Assist with problem solving, root cause identification, and corrective actions to resolve any quality issues discovered on the production line(s)
Pull all required retains from production during the in-process inspection
- Pull all company retains, safety burn samples, and any retains required by the Account Managers
- Maintain, file, and archive production paperwork and retains
Perform inspections on finished goods as well as any reworked or sorted product as required to ensure quality standards are met
- Place product on hold
- Assist production with any rework
- Report any deviations from standards to QC Supervisor
Ensure that all inspection paperwork is filled out completely and accurately
- Maintain a high standard of housekeeping as part of normal operations
Skills & Knowledge
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions, compounding batch sheets, etc. is required
- Previous quality control experience preferred. Experience working in a manufacturing setting is required.
- Ability to write routine reports and electronic correspondence
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to apply reasoning and critical thinking to carry out detailed written or verbal instructions
