Position OverviewThe Quality Control Inspector supports wireline construction projects primarily in the outside plant (OSP) networks. This position works directly with the field crews performing the construction work to ensure the work is completed and meets the required standards and associated quality of workmanship. The Quality Control Inspector takes measurements and verifies requirements of approved permits are met. This position reports directly to the Field Supervisor and Construction Manager.
Duties & Responsibilities- Work closely with project management, supervisors, field crews, and subcontractors to ensure construction is completed according to required standards & specifications of AEG and the client
- Obtain appropriate and accurate measurements using a measuring wheel and/or verify the numbers of the fiber cable at each terminating location to align with our production reporting software
- Verifies construction work meets or exceeds the requirements of all approved permits
- Other projects or duties as assigned
- Previous experience in an FTTX quality control environment, outside plant networks, or commercial construction required
- Ability to work on a tablet and/or computer
- Must understand how to read construction prints and understand RUS units and specifications
- Ability to communicate and work with field crews firmly and fairly
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Ability to pass a background check including criminal
- Valid driver's license
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer, driving a vehicle, and/or standing
- Must be able to work in a non-climate-controlled environment, work in inclement weather
- Must be able to perform physical activities that require considerable and sustained use of your arms, legs, and moving your entire body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, sitting, standing, lifting/handling of materials up to 75lbs, and safely negotiating a construction site
- Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment
