QC Technician
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Perform inspection at all levels for raw and coated materials (as determined by the QC Department) to ensure quality standards are met.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned as business demands.
- Perform daily inspection on all levels for Raw. Coated rolls, Finished goods and packaging material.
- Inspect and test Raw base before the start of the coating run.
- Check coating line pre run check list to ensure correct items are being used.
- Check converting machine blades and ensure vacuum system are being used during converting.
- Use daily log report for coating and converting.
- Log all tested material into the QC data entry system.
- Inspect and test the quality of coated material during production to eliminate waste.
- Ensure quality of final product during coated and converting operation.
- Maintain the work area and equipment in clean and orderly condition.
- Report defective material or questionable condition to the department Supervisor or Lead.
- Focus on work and minimize interruptions.
- Prioritize, work well under time pressure, and focus on work in midst of noise.
- Assist the coating line team during 3rd shift when shorthanded.
- Comply with safety laws and regulations.
- Contribute and adhere to safety and quality.
- Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.
- Must be able to work 3rd shift 10:00PM-6:30am - Will train one full week on 1st shift 8:00am-4:30pm
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Regularly required to stand, stoop, kneel and/or crouch
- Capable to lift or move 50 lbs.
- Occasionally required to climb or balance.
- Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls: reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work is performed in a warehouse environment. Workers are regularly exposed to dust, odors, noise, and variable temperatures. The employee works with moving mechanical parts and machinery.
EDUCATION:
Graduation from high school or GED equivalent preferred. One (1) year relevant experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to do the job.
