About IPSD
Caterpillar’s Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) designs, tests and manufactures 0.5 to 18L engines that not only power Caterpillar machines, but also power over 5000 other applications including Marine, Petroleum, Industrial Applications, Electric Generators, and Locomotives. The Role
As the Aftertreatment Quality and Compliance Engineer within Caterpillar Industrial Power Systems Division, you will be part of a cross-functional, high performing team and develop products that make our world cleaner by meeting new and existing emissions regulations. You will work with industry leading experts to solve problems and deliver high quality, compliant emissions control components and systems. You will collaborate with a global team to develop innovative solutions while strengthening your analytical skills and mastery of engineering concepts. You will contribute to the planning and delivery of projects, continually learn and stay abreast of the latest technology, and broaden your professional network.
Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
* Proactive quality management for aftertreatment design controls
* Factory and supplier support and issue resolution including deviations, lean alerts, CI cards and BIQ
* Defect free aftertreatment compliance documentation
* Support design development of innovative concepts and cutting-edge solutions
* Problem solves to address issues impacting quality and continuously improve processes
* Organize and lead projects to achieve time, cost, and quality targets
* Effectively communicate with customers, suppliers, team members, and industry partners
Required Qualifications:
* Bachelor of Science degree (or equivalent) preferably in an accredited Engineering curriculum plus at least 3 years of experience in product development, or equivalent combination of education and experience
* Experience with Creo and Teamcenter (or equivalent CAD tools)
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Emphasis on initiative and self-starting tasks
* Excellent communication skills
Desired Qualifications:
* 5 years experience in product development
* Engine or aftertreatment design / development experience
* Familiar / proficient with quality systems and tools
