Purchasing Manager
Responsibilities:
* Source and place purchase orders for all required materials, supplies, and services using all available resources including existing vendor pool, Amazon and other web-based suppliers, and new suppliers
* Obtain and maintain record of quotations for required materials from new and existing vendors; seeking out new vendors as needed
* Negotiate pricing and optimal delivery timeframes with vendors
* Develop and maintain a rapport with vendors, suppliers, and contractors; and maintain and open line of communication via phone and email
* Utilize technology including in-house ERP system to streamline procurement process
* Understand and comply with federal, state, and local regulations that may affect or pertain to Purchasing department
* Report and recommend to Upper Management suggestions for optimized process flow within the Purchasing department
* Work collaboratively with engineering, sales, accounting, and production departments to ensure necessary deadlines are fulfilled
* Maintain stock levels of inventory items, paying close attention to inventory reorder levels and upcoming demand for inventory items
* Participate in inventory maintenance, including inventory counts, cycle counts, etc.
Qualifications:
* Minimum of 5 years direct purchasing experience; or 3 years of direct purchasing experience AND Bachelor"s degree in Purchasing-related field such as supply chain management
* Experience in a manufacturing setting strongly preferred
* Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks
* Willingness and ability to lift up to 50 lbs on an as-needed basis
* Ability to demonstrate exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance
