The Purchasing Coordinator provides efficient and effective entry level support for purchasing supervisor and the Utility Sales Department. Assists in purchasing materials for the organization and maintains correct item and pricing information. This position presents the opportunity to work alongside peers who are versatile, enthusiastic, and continuing to strive to push AECI and our mission forward.
Responsibilities
- Verifies purchase requisitions and prepares purchase orders by verifying specifications and price.
- Resolves shipments in error with suppliers and maintains information accessibility by sorting and uploading into electronic files.
- Researches and evaluates suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, production and distribution capabilities, and the supplier's reputation and history as directed.
- Obtains purchased items by forwarding orders to suppliers; also monitors and expedites orders. Confers with supervisor to review defective or unacceptable goods or services and determine corrective action.
- Coordinates with supervisor and provides support to all product research programs and assists to obtain required approvals.
- The ability to handle stress and work well with others are essential functions of this position.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED, plus at least 2 years total related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must be able to travel throughout the territory on occasion to assist with annual warehouse inventories.
Preferred Qualifications
- Electrical distribution industry and/or purchasing experience strongly preferred.
