Public Relations Associate Director - Ad Agency
Our client, an advertising agency in St. Louis, is looking for a PR Associate Director to join their team!
The PR AD will bring in‐depth industry-sector expertise and a broad PR skillset from planning to execution to work directly with client contacts and oversee day‐to‐day client work including strategic planning, budget management, building and enhancing media relationships, creating and managing media materials, research, and media monitoring and reporting. Additional expectations include contributing to agency communications and business development. Typical areas of measurement include successful client relationship management, ability to achieve overall client expectations and goals, and collaboration across client and agency teams.

Responsibilities Include:
- Develop and grow client relationships.
- Manage client objectives by developing and executing PR strategy and tactics to achieve client satisfaction.
- Manage development and delivery of client materials and services, including news releases, talking points, results reports, remarks and scripts, spokesperson training, media pitching, interview coordination, and other needs for programs, campaigns, and events.
- Provide ongoing stewardship and understanding of client objectives and their marketplace dynamics.
- Develop and manage budgets.
- Assist with strategic issues, management planning, and execution.
- Collaborate within PR department and across agency teams to achieve client goals and foster an environment of professionalism and respect.
- Represent the agency at industry events as appropriate.
- Develop, implement, and assist in the execution of agency PR.
- Support agency business development activities.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to successfully collaborate with client and internal agency teams.
- Strong media relations experience to deliver strong, consistent results.
- Strong writing skills, including experience using AP style.
- Strong ability to think creatively and to plan strategically for a variety of opportunities including campaigns and events.
- Ability to identify trends and make strategic communications recommendations.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and efficiently, delegate appropriately, and collaborate.
- Ability to develop and manage budgets.
Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Advertising or other applicable fieldof study.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant PR experience, ad agency experience required.
- Tourism industry PR experience preferred.
- Consumer/tourism media relations experience and success at the local, regional and national levels.
- Prior experience working with Missouri and Midwest-based media outlets is a huge plus.
