Summary/Objective
The Hopkins Group Consulting Firm is seeking a PT human resource consultant for its Dallas, Texas location. The HR Consultant must live in the Dallas, Texas metroplex. The HR consultant will be responsible for providing HR services to small and midsized businesses that have contracted or outsourced their HR function. Therefore, the duties will vary from client to client.

The ideal HR Consultant will have broad hands-on experience in dealing with actual HR issues. HR Consultant will possess in-depth knowledge of HR disciplines in the areas of policy development, HR operations, organizational development, HR compliance, talent acquisition, HRIS, benefits, payroll, HRIS implementations, project management and employee Relations. They will be strategic thinkers and problem-solvers with excellent tactical and communication skills.
Essential Functions
- Advise clients on compliant HR management practices
- Analyze a company’s current HR programs and recommend solutions fitting for the company's business/industry
- Develop, revise, and implement HR policies, procedures and handbooks, as needed
- Formulate communication plans around policy changes
- Ensure HR, benefit, and compensation programs, policies and offerings are aligned to create efficiency and compliance
- Conduct research through various methods and present findings and best practice recommendations
- Audit HR systems and processes and make recommendations to address gaps/issues
- Serve as a project manager/leader working with the company's vendors, such as payroll vendor, benefit brokers, client and HR as a referral or making recommendations to support the organization in effectively administering daily operations or stand-alone HR processes, policies and practices.
- May require reporting and other project management services as needed.
- Provide consultation and guidance to clients and organizational partners in the interpretation of human resource management policies, procedures, programs and application of related government laws and regulations
- Provide expert guidance for formulating leave policies/strategies by understanding the interaction between employee benefit plans, federal and state leave laws and a client’s leave program
- May occasionally require supporting client on-site
- Preference in HR generalist role with experience administering payroll function and knowledge of payroll processes using various payroll systems.
- Have worked in a consulting environment and understanding of business development, sourcing for new business leads is preferrable.
Requirements
- 5+ Years of Human Resources Experience
- BS Degree
- Ability to multi-task and work on various projects and clients
- Experience working with Executive Leaders, CEO, C-Suite and Communicate effectively with leaders throughout the organization
- Independent HR Consultant Experience preferred
- Certified HR professional
- Must live in Dallas, Texas metroplex
