Back to all Jobs PT Golf Groundskeeper (Open Positions: 1) Job Status: Part-Time Rate of Pay: $12.00 - $12.00 Position Type: Part-Time Status: Open Apply Now Position Description This is a part time position with occasional weekend hours where the employee has a purpose of performing highly diversified duties and processes to support the achievement of Rolling Meadows Golf Course business goals and objectives. Rolling Meadows Groundskeeper performs unskilled and semi-unskilled tasks in the maintenance and operation of golf course buildings and grounds. This position reports directly to the Assistant Golf Superintendent and must be able to perform daily tasks independently and with minimal direct supervision.

Major Areas of Responsibility Inspects, washes, and performs routine maintenance of restrooms. Operates a weed eater. Picks up trash, downed trees/limbs and any other debris that inhibits play or creates an unsightly appearance on the golf course or around the clubhouse.

Mows and maintains fairways, greens, tee areas, rough, and open space areas; mows weeds; cleans and maintains sand traps and other course elements; maintains sprinkler systems and assists in the repair and installation of sprinkler lines and heads. Wash, wax, inspects, adjusts, lubricates, performs daily and scheduled maintenance and repairs on specialized turf care equipment; including golf cars, pumps, electric motors, mowers, utility vehicles/attachments, tractors/attachments, reels, tools and other equipment. Performs minor semi-skilled interior/exterior building maintenance such as sweeping, washing, painting, and repairing or replacing tables, slabs, and other facilities and equipment.

Performs minor semi-skilled interior building maintenance such as painting, plumbing, carpentry, and other unskilled and semi-skilled trades work. Plants turf, trees, shrubs, and flowers. Carries out the seeding, fertilizing, top dressing, soil conditioning, watering, and the pest and weed control of golf course.

Performs custodial work as required and assigned, including: change light bulbs and fluorescent tubes; sweep floors; vacuum carpets; mop; shampoo and steam clean carpets; buff non-carpeted areas; dump garbage and reline cans with liners; clean and sanitize restrooms and replenish supplies; sweep; empty ash cans; clean spills; clean drinking fountains, mirrors, tables, walls, fixtures, blinds, light fixtures, etc.; dust furniture; wash windows, walls, metal and woodwork; clean rain gutters; sweep roofs. Assists in setting up and taking down equipment for various programs and tournaments, prepares facilities for program use. Assists in the construction of new facilities, including clearing, grading, drainage, and foundation work.

Keeps records of work completed. Assists with seeding, fertilizing, top dressing, watering, soil preparation/conditioning and week/pest control. Reports adverse turf conditions, turf damage, equipment malfunctions, equipment/property damages, injuries, unsafe conditions, and safety concerns to the Golf Superintendent or the Assistant Golf Superintendent.

Education/Experience/Requirements *Graduation from high school or GED equivalent *Working knowledge of: equipment, materials and supplies used in building and grounds maintenance; equipment and supplies used to do minor repairs; first aid and applicable safety precautions. *Two years experience in repair and maintenance work,preferred. *Skill in the operation of listed tools and equipment.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

The employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
