Psychiatrist Medical Director

The Medical Director will provide leadership and oversight for the behavioral health services and staff. This includes coordinating various behavioral health offerings within the facility and related organizations; providing administrative leadership related to 
staff; overseeing clinical quality initiatives and outcome measures; reviewing, and updating applicable facility, community, and state behavioral healthcare policies; providing consultation to new and expanding projects; and providing oversight for clinical services and the clinicians that perform them.  

The Medical Director also provides direct behavioral health services to patients/clients, including initial and follow-up psychiatric evaluations and medication management, diagnosis & treatment planning, psychotherapy as needed, clinical documentation and charge capture,
medication refills, and timely response to patient inquiries.

The Medical Director’s specific minimum qualifications are:

1. M.D. or D.O. degree with completion of Residency in Psychiatry
2. Experience in providing outpatient Psychiatric Services
3. Board Certification in Psychiatry
4. Be licensed in Virginia - Possession of a current, valid license to practice medicine in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
5. Possession of a current, valid DEA Registration.
6. Requires physical demand for light work, able to lift up to ten pounds.
7. Requires physical capability to effectively use and operate various office related equipment such as, but not limited to, computer (electronic health records (HER), electronic prescribing software), Dictaphone, copier, scanner, and fax machine.
