The Washington State Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is looking to fill two Land Transaction Project assistants to support real estate transactions to better achieve its mission.

These positions are responsible for assisting 3 project managers in buying, selling and exchanging, DNR managed properties (typically but not limited to timber and agriculture) statewide. The positions support the Department by helping the Acquisition and Divestiture team so it can effectively improve DNR's asset portfolio while navigating through a complex set of laws and regulations as well as public and stakeholder expectations. The goal of the program is to improve the land portfolio in a manner that optimizes revenue generation for present and future generations.

To be successful in this position you not only need an understanding of land transaction processes, but you also need to showcase outstanding organizational and multi-tasking skills.Responsibilities:These positions serve as project assistants for DNR's Acquisition and Divestitures section with primary responsibility for supporting 3 project managers and the section lead in:* Communicating with region, division, and executive staff about projects* Coordinating public outreach through email, web pages, legal ads, presentations, media releases, and public hearings* Assists with title order requests, examinations and title clearing* Coordinates transaction closings in escrow and in-house closings* Working in GIS to do property review and create maps* Manage paper and electronic filesRequired Qualifications:* Bachelor's degree involving major study in business or public administration, real estate, economics, accounting, or related field AND one year of experience in activities such as acquisition, sales, leasing, appraisal, title examination, escrow closing, negotiations, property management, title examination, relocation assistance, or selling, leasing or buying commercial real estate, or auditing or appraising real or personal property for fair market value; * OR A combination of equivalent education and/or experience; * OR One year of experience as a Property and Acquisition Specialist 1.* DNR Core Competencies: * Personal Accountability * Value Others* Compassionate Communication* Inspire Others* Commitment to ExcellenceWorking Conditions:* This position occasionally travels statewide.* Employees of the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) are required to complete their primary series of COVID-19 vaccines (be fully vaccinated against COVID-19) or be approved for a medical or religious accommodation as a condition of employment.
