Position: Project Manager I
Location: Charleston, WV/Hybrid
Start Date: February, 2023
Position Summary:
Plans, directs, organizes, and executes designated project activities to ensure that goals and objectives are accomplished within schedule and budget. Manages project execution either personally or through subordinate supervisors assigned to the projects. Champions and administers CDI project management processes and procedures. Provides support for other projects such as Project Engineer, Scheduler, and Technical Resource.
Position Responsibilities:
Provide program and project leadership under the general supervision of the Manager of Projects.
Independently coordinate and monitor discipline work to achieve desired project results.
Establish and maintain client relations and lead proposal development efforts.
Manage overall project execution including resource allocation and management, schedule and budget control, status reporting, contract management, change management, client and CDI communications.
Ensures CDI process and procedures are followed and properly documented.
Identify project risk and develop and execute mitigation measures.
Maximize profitability for CDI.
Coach and mentor project team.
Ensure a safe work environment and a safe design, per CDI and client safety guidelines.
Complies with all CDI operating guidelines and standards.
Position Qualifications:
Organization capabilities including planning, organizing and managing small and large projects.
Diverse knowledge of all areas of engineering execution, discipline interface, how information flows between disciplines and how to tailor to the project.
Knowledge and experience with contracting, procurement and materials management.
Excellent communication and public relation skills including experience with customer relations
Positive attitude and strong work ethic with a desire to excel in a collaborative team environment.
Basic computer skills and proficiency in the use of Microsoft applications. Use of Sharepoint and Microsoft Teams to communicate with other team members.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technical field from four-year college or university is desired. Five (5) years experience in the engineering industry with 2 years as Project Manager. Previous experience as Project Engineer desirable. Professional certification/registration preferred, not required. 10 + years experience in lieu of degree. Experience based on knowledge, skills, and abilities may qualify with the approval of Director of Operations.
Top 3 Requirements:
Proven project management experience leading multidiscipline teams.
Experience with project management tools including scheduling, budgeting, earned value management and resource planning.
Previous consulting experience.
