We are seeking to add a quality focused and experienced Project Estimator/Supplementer to our team. Our ideal candidate would be an individual who used to be an insurance adjuster familiar in writing Xactimate estimates or someone currently working as an estimator for a construction company but wanting to step up and join a stronger company with much more opportunity. We are forecasting upwards of a thousand projects for the 2022 season and we need a fourth estimator to round out our team. Job Summary:
This employee is responsible for analyzing basic blueprints(i.e. Eagle view and Hover reports), specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for products, projects, or services. Basically you are supplementing insurance estimates for repairs due to hail and/or wind damage. Strong organizational and time management skills are a must in this position as you will be asked to perform daily tasks with a high level of attention to detail and maintain deadlines. Xactimate experience required.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Inspect newly submitted jobs to ensure accuracy and provide final approval
- Review all insurance estimates to identify errors and omissions.
- Composing Xactimate estimates required for claims supplementation and for all trades Capital performs.
- Follow up on estimates sent to insurance carriers and discuss with insurance adjusters to come to an agreement on scope.
- Create and send the final invoice to the insurance company
- Follow up on jobs submitted as invoiced to verify depreciation was released.
- Work with Project Managers to ensure there is proper documentation and pictures in our CRM for all sufficient supplements
- Work in tandem with Project Managers and Quality Control to monitor waste and provide recommendations on reducing excess.
Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 2 years minimum experience of estimating in a same or similar environment is preferred
- Construction background or building knowledge would be helpful in this role
- Background in insurance claims would also be a bonus
Required Abilities:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to speak to many different people a day, negotiate insurance claims, etc.
- Quality-focused attitude with an appropriate sense of urgency and attention to details
- Strong computer skills including MS Office, Word, Excel
- Xactimate experience required.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Compensation: 60k+ yearly base salary negotiable based on experience plus a generous performance bonus structure.
