DESCRIPTION
Michael Baker International is seeking an experienced Project Administrator to join our Construction Services Team. The Project Administrator will play a significant role in the CEI operations and growth of our construction practice throughout Florida. The qualified candidate will provide direct support to the Senior Project Engineer, Inspectors, and other members and consultant partners of the CEI team. A high level of professionalism, communication skills, and awareness is required along with a sense of pride in knowing that you 'Make a Difference' in your role as a Project Administrator. Some travel between our offices in Florida will be required.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Provide all facets of project administration and support for Florida CEI projects.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly progress reports and progress estimates.
- Review of project schedules, compare, and verify the progress of actual construction activities in the field.
- Coordinating project deliverables with project managers and the client while adhering to project deadlines.
- Other special requests and duties as assigned.
- Maintain Project Progress Photograph files.
- Monitor project construction progress by supervising and receiving pay item data from inspection staff.
- Direct and assign specific tasks to Administrative staff, Contract Support Specialists, and Inspectors.
- Assist in all phases of a construction project.
- Review material submittals for conformance with the contract documents.
- Manage construction contracts.
- Be responsible for taking ownership of the entire project completion process from planning and conducting the pre-construction conference to final acceptance and close out.
- Review inspection Daily Work Reports prepared by Inspectors.
- Review and approve monthly progress estimates.
- Be knowledgeable and utilize FDOT Site Manager and LIMS system for materials acceptance.
- Prepare weekly/monthly project status reports.
- Facilitate resolution of construction issues by coordinating with the client, contractor, and other stakeholders.
- Perform monthly schedule updates review and provided monthly contract status updates to the client.
PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalent, while a Degree in Civil Engineering or related field is preferred.
- With an Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Construction Management degree, two (2) years' experience in the construction management of highway projects, experience with FDOT construction projects. A Master's Degree in Engineering may be substituted for one (1) year of engineering experience.
- Without one of the degrees mentioned above, eight (8) years of experience in highway and bridge construction inspection of which two (2) of those years involved transportation projects.
- FDOT CTQP qualifications and certifications required (QC Manager, Final Estimates 1 & 2, and FDOT Advanced MOT).
- Proficient with FDOT construction administration software: Site Manager, Pay Item Tracking System (PTS), and LIMS for material acceptance.
- The Project Administrator must be highly proficient in MS Excel, Word, Adobe Acrobat/Bluebeam.
- Primavera P6 experience and familiarity is preferred but not a requirement.
- A positive team-first attitude, working toward the common goal of keeping our office a great place to work, and addressing items needed to make that happen.
- The ability to work both independently, with limited supervision, and as part of a team.
- Excellent attention to detail, and the ability to professionally handle multiple priorities and projects throughout the day in a fast-paced environment.
- Highly organized.
- Ability to interact effectively with all levels of Michael Baker staff, external clients, and Agencies.
- Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal.
- Ability to multi-task and delegate requests for information to appropriate Michael Baker Departments.
- Strict attention to detail for document and invoice review and preparation.
