Job description

Position Title: Program Manager or Senior Program Manager - Dallas, TX (Hybrid - mostly remote) - $120-160K depending upon experience level.

Summary:

We are looking for a Program Manager or Senior Program Manager to help drive the delivery of key initiatives for our platform that manages the connected device supply chain. We are seeking an experienced technical Program Manager who enjoys helping to deliver cutting-edge integrated software platforms that enhance productivity for customers. Be a part of our mission-critical story! Apply today to learn more and make a positive impact!

What you own (responsibilities): In this role, you own and are responsible for delivering key initiatives.

  • Develop and manage project plans across Product, Engineering, and R&D
  • Develop and manage the change management process
  • Drive software engineering project execution, make technical trade-offs, track and report on status, and resolve blocking issues
  • Define and document
  • Interface cross-functionally to ensure and report on program and project progress, solicit feedback, and request resources and alignment
  • Collaborate with software engineering and product management teams to ensure cross-functional deliverables are identified and tracked
  • Communicate clearly and effectively to executive management on the plans, status, and critical issues. Escalate urgent issues appropriately and drive them to closure in a timely manner
  • Assist with vendor management and vendor deliveries
  • Organize regular project and team meetings, focusing design teams on program milestones and unblock technical issues by pulling together the multi-functional technical expertise to resolve the issues
  • Set agenda, communicate meeting notes and actions; follow up with responsible owners
  • Participate in technical discussions, ask probing questions, and work with the team to pull together scoping, schedules, and solutions to issues
  • Demonstrate leadership and be adept at navigating through tough situations, juggling various priorities, and managing constraints

You must be competent in a variety of project management tools, methodologies, and techniques for all phases of the project life cycle and exhibit demonstrated proficiency in core project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, resources, quality and risk management, reporting, and metric development/tracking.

What you bring (experience and qualifications): We come together to deliver for each other and our customers, and we know there are many paths to performing well. We will expect you to come up to speed fast and deliver great work without too much guidance. We think it would be hard to do that in this job without specialized education or proven successful experience in:

  • BA/BS in Business, Management, or a relevant field. MS or MBA a plus
  • 7+ years of experience in program or project management
  • 3+ years of experience in the mobile/connected device, consumer electronics reverse logistics, and/or SaaS industries desired
  • Experience owning program strategy, end-to-end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
  • Demonstrated success in managing planning, project reviews, scheduling, and budgets
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are crucial, as well as the ability to think clearly, analyze, problem-solve, scope requirements and prioritize
  • Sound business judgment with the proven ability to influence others positively
  • Strong analytical thinking skills
  • High levels of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information

What we expect from everyone: What does it take to be successful with us? We expect ourselves and each other to:

  • Put people first (by helping others be at their best--and making sure we are, too)
  • Communicate clearly (by speaking candidly, regularly, and respectfully to everyone)
  • Own our work and the outcomes (by taking personal ownership to deliver on the commitments we make to our colleagues and our customers)
  • Trust and be trustworthy (by acting with integrity and providing excellent work for each other and our clients)
  • Value everyone's voice (because it's all about the best ideas--not bureaucracy).

What you can expect from us:
  • 4 weeks of paid time off every year. Most of it doesn't roll over because we know we won't use it otherwise - and we know using it makes us better at our work and to each other.
  • Flexible working hours and schedules (some positions--like this one--will do some on-call weekend work on occasion, but we expect you to take time off during the week to make up for it)
  • Casual dress
  • A company-paid Google Pixel phone or a monthly credit to apply for your tech needs (including upgrading your bandwidth)
  • 12 paid holidays, including Juneteenth and the day after Thanksgiving
  • A monthly wellness stipend that you can use for things like a meditation app, standing desk, gym equipment, etc.
  • 401(k) matching up to 4%
  • Up to $5,250/year for certification, continuing education, and tuition reimbursement.
  • We provide insurance coverage we're proud of for you, your family, and your spouse or domestic partner. We pay 100% of the cost of coverage for you for vision (through VSP), dental (through Guardian Dental), and some medical plans (through United Health Care, the largest health insurance company in the U.S.).
  • HSAs, FSAs, and commuter benefits that can reduce your overall benefits costs

The fine print:

You must be able to travel as needed for this role. Assuming you live in the DFW area (strongly preferred), we think you will travel roughly 5-20% annually. Your travel will most likely be to customer sites where we have test and triage facilities such as Nashville, TN, or to our headquarters in Baltimore, MD. Travel to and from the DFW area would be significantly higher if you do not live in the greater DFW area.

The physical requirements include prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer (though you can use the tech benefit to create whatever desk you'll work best at).

We are an agile organization, and so the duties and description of this role (like every other at Apkudo) may change at any time as we adapt.

This position is exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

About Apkudo:

We develop software and hardware platforms for the management of connected device supply chains. Through an applied combination of artificial intelligence, advanced analytics, and sophisticated automation, our platforms help rationalize and improve the reverse logistic supply chain for connected devices (e.g., smartphones, notebooks, watches, etc.) by injecting intelligence and transparency throughout the entire device lifecycle: from design, development, testing, and certification to forward and reverse logistics. We test and certify, triage, and provide stakeholders (OEMs, Carries, Insurers, and 3PL) with the data necessary to help them balance device quality, velocity, and precision across all supply chain processes to optimize device experiences and device value.

We are committed to equal employment opportunities and a workplace culture where everyone is respected and connected. We consider all applicants fairly regardless of national origin, race, religion, color, sex (including pregnancy and sexual orientation), disability, or genetic information.
