2nd Shift - Hours (2pm - 10:30pm) with 8% Shift Differential

This pioneering program partners Raytheon Intelligence & Space, a leading employer in North Texas, with Collin College, a leading educational institution in North Texas, to create a fast-tracked education program that bridges a career with Raytheon. The Raytheon Apprenticeship Program is a nationally recognized & officially registered program by the Department of Labor (DOL). Through this 24 to 36-month paid position at Raytheon, you will work side by side with mentors, trainers, and journey workers through real projects and programs made for the moments that matter, while taking applicable courses with Collin College (at most 2 classes per semester) that directly tie into your work experience at Raytheon.

With your cohort, you will learn through hands-on demonstrations and classes about the operations & supply chain, electro-mechanical assemblies, electro-optical assemblies, engineering design & testing processes, computer skills, and Lean Manufacturing, the CORE to our business. Accepting a role with Raytheon Intelligence and Space does not guarantee acceptance into the RAP, and participation in the RAP is not a requirement for this position.

Individual will be part of a manufacturing assembly team that is involved with microelectronic components. Duties can include setup shop orders, manual tasks, operating semi and automated processing equipment, operating ovens, using a microscope to check work, sitting and standing for prolonged period, following detailed written work instructions from a computer, using our Factory Operating System (FOS), create non-conformances in FOS, and performing rework.

Individual will have annual training requirements in topics ranging from safety, hazardous materials, quality systems, and other topics.

Required Skills

• Job duties require hand/finger dexterity and attention to detail.

• The candidate must have basic computer and math skills.

• Must have the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

• Must be able to communicate effectively, multi-task, and be flexible with the work as needed.

• Able to perform repetitive tasks in accordance with an established, demonstrated process and to perform in-process inspection in accordance with company standards and customer specifications.

• Effective time management skills are a must.

• Microelectronic industry experience

• Positive attitude and teaming skills needed.

• 6 years relevant experience

Desired Skills

• Related experience working in a manufacturing, microelectronics, aerospace or defense industry environment.

• Conformal coating experience

• Solder experience to Military and/or ANSI/J standards

• Knowledge of 6 Sigma/ Kaizen

• Thorough safety focus

• Demonstrated work ethic for continuous improvement.

• A successful candidate would be able to accomplish daily work tasks with a minimum of supervision.

Typically Requires:

• HS Diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience
