JOB TITLE: Production Supervisor, Flat or Soil
REPORTS TO: Plant Manager
POSITION SUMMARY
The primary purpose of the Production Supervisor is to ensure effective, safe and cost-efficient operations and effective staff management for various departments within the plant. This may include unjamming machines, pushing linen carts, assisting with production, and other duties as assigned.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Lead staff to meet daily/weekly production goals through efficient production processes:
Ensure that adequate staffing exists through effective scheduling. Effectively manage labor costs as directed.
Train and ensure that all employees are adequately trained.
- Exhibit sound leadership in concert with Crown culture:
Listen to all employees - encourage two-way communication Serve as a role model for respect for the company's policies and procedures
- Fill in and assist with any position as needed to ensure that production goals are met. This includes soil and production positions, etc.
- Work in constant collaboration with Maintenance to ensure safe equipment
operation.
- Work in collaboration with the service department to consistently meet their needs through complete tie-outs and timely response to urgent service requests.
- Uphold a genuine regard for safety by ensuring that safety committee meetings are held monthly on relevant topics.
React immediately to perceived safety violations or issues, contacting the Safety Manager immediately.
Actively participate in the quarterly safety audit.
- Track and communicate necessary information to employees regarding production targets, achievements, etc.
Communicate visibly via a Production Board
Hold periodic department meetings to discuss accomplishments.
- Responsible for product quality:
Implement a quality assurance system internally
Ensure that production and soil processes are documented, taught, and followed.
- Handle administrative duties as needed:
Generate reports as needed in a timely manner
Work with office staff to ensure that new hire paperwork and other reporting is handled efficiently and accurately. Ensure all performance and behavior disciplinary write ups are done in a timely manner and are coordinated with HR Plant personnel.

Attendance must be exemplary; you are the example for your team. Attendance issues will be dealt with by discipline up to and including termination.
At least 3 years supervisory experience in a related production environment Solid leadership acumen

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
The Production Supervisor will need to be flexible to be at the plant whenever needed and will move from area to area frequently during the shift. This included being on your feet, walking the floor of the plant during your workday. This is not a sedentary position.
