The Production Planner Scheduler at The Popcorn Factory plans and prepares production schedules for manufacture and distribution of Popcorn Factory products. The employee in this position is responsible for coordinating the production planning process. This process provides a vital link between all functional areas in the company. Major responsibilities are in the creation of the Master Production Schedule (MPS) and execution of the Material Requirement Planning (MRP) functions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Develops master production schedule (MPS) to establish sequence and lead-time of each operation to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts or customer orders. Plans and schedules workflow for each department and operation according to previously established manufacturing sequences and lead times.
Take in forecast and committed sales on non-forecasted items from the various sales channels and add these quantities to our master production schedule in planned release quantities, which will ensure on time delivery as well as fresh product.
Create, maintain, and adjust daily production schedules for each Production area of the business, which includes all subassembly production as well as all finished production
Release production orders for each operation through Oracle Manufacturing System
Constantly review and communicate updates needed to product available dates, based on sales volume and production date. Communicates closely with the Merchandising Group on the Sales Ordering Plan and resulting forecasts to ensure the MPS is accurate. Meets with managers to determine status of assigned projects. Provides a daily report detailing status of items on back order (unavailable to ship per customer request date) to Marketing, Merchandising, Customer Service, Production, Shipping, and Receiving. Creates and distributes this daily back order report.
Expedites operations (internally and externally) that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions. Ensures data integrity of schedules, planning data (lead-times, vendor specs, etc), and Bills of Materials. Prepares weekly/monthly reports to analyze production/planning data.
Create, maintain and communicate daily, monthly, and annual production attainment reports.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university
- Three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Considerable knowledge of effective production planning scheduling practices including Operating Systems, material handling principles, and PC skills
- Knowledge of sourcing/buying practices and supply chain management issues
- Oracle Manufacturing experience required
- Food manufacturing experience or similar is preferred
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of data involving forecasts, MPS, MRP, CRP, and production yields
