Job Purpose
Responsible for the overall manufacturing of products according to specifications, to meet the business objectives at the site. Assists in guiding fellow site management team members in developing and ensure implementation of policies, yearly improvement plans, and best practices, contributing to the development of policy in line with corporate guidelines, business plans, to ensure the realization of strategic objectives of the site.
Key Responsibilities
- As a member of the site management team, contribute to the formulation of site objectives from a production perspective and ensure site capabilities, constraints and HSE considerations are incorporated into the site plan
- Plans, coordinates, and controls production related activities at the site to meet objectives and budgets about HSE, quality, service and cost. Contributes to successful product and volume reallocations.
- Co-develops and executes plans related to improving HSE, quality, service and costs in conjunction with the Site Management Team.
- Participates in the definition & execution (where relevant) of investments for production related activities and equipment.
- Works with RD&I to enable New Product Initiatives, of which product responsibility is accepted from RD&I after three successful batches. (Scale up process)
- Leads and ensures Daily Operational Review are conducted effectively and day-to-day problems are solved and contained.
- Enables and contributes to the implementation of Continuous Improvement activities & programs for HSE, Quality, ALPS or other as may be assigned from time to time. Is familiar and complies with all the applicable corporate as well as site and laboratory policies/procedures regarding personal conduct, HSE and Product Safety & Regulatory Affairs (PSRA) standards.
- Prepare studies and projects for mechanical and / or electrical maintenance, aiming to make the needs of the production sector more flexible
- Responsible for technology in the area, and thus proactively monitor, evaluate, and if necessary, change parameters / procedures relevant to process safety, and / or the process itself
- Stimulates, manages and follows through on employee engagement and builds on the workforce to reflect the societies and markets in which we do business (D&I)
- Enforce the technical specifications and / or equipment required at the beginning of the production process for each type of paint, with the participation of the area of quality control and maintenance of the machines;
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required; Chemistry or Engineering degree preferred
- 5+ years of manufacturing experience required; Paints/Coatings or liquid batch manufacturing experience preferred
- 5+ years of previous supervisory/management experience required
- Effective leadership, interpersonal skills, performance management, and people development skills required
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and tasks with clear prioritization and organizational skills
- Effective communicator with all levels of the organization (employees, managers, customers)
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills (Microsoft Office, ERP systems, etc.)
