GENERAL SUMMARY OF THE PRODUCTION CONTROL SPECIALIST
Evaluation and leading changes in Production Control, focusing on process improvements to ensure inventory accuracy, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and inventory reduction, while having an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the QAD system and how it impacts inventory. Ongoing review of plant production scheduling tools, working with operations and engineering to create and maintain the optimum schedule for production equipment. Review of plant inventory transactions to identify issues that would cause inventory discrepancies.

GENERAL SUMMARY OF THE PRODUCTION CONTROL SPECIALIST
Evaluation and leading changes in Production Control, focusing on process improvements to ensure inventory accuracy, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and inventory reduction, while having an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the QAD system and how it impacts inventory. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Periodic review of Optimizer Header Wheels, working with operations and engineering to determine appropriate parts to be scheduled and the proper sequence to minimize header downtime and improve OEE.
- Analyzes, recommends and implements improvement plans for:
- Materials handling and movement
- Heading part layout
- Material process flow studies
- Slow-moving inventory min / max analysis
- Part Excess and Obsolescence
- Establishing machine capacity layout
- Order Prep process
- Create and use Value Stream Maps for process improvements
EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED
- Required Hs Diploma/GED OR Relevant experience.
- Working knowledge of fastener manufacturing.
- Ability to complete assigned projects on time
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to travel as required and attend training
- Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles
DESIRABLES:
- Associate Degree, preferably in business or engineering
- Experience on a manufacturing floor
- Skilled in PC operations - Windows and Microsoft Office Suite
- Familiar with IATF 16949 quality system requirements
