As Product Specialist you will be responsible for supporting the efforts of the local and regional product team in developing and managing the various travel insurance products. This includes conducting product related analysis, managing product information, implementing various product related activities, documenting and improving processes, and supporting product and portfolio monitoring.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Product Management Support
- Work directly with the Product Managers to support new product launches. Efforts include peer reviews, document tracking, and communicating updates to a cross functional team.
- Create documentation related to product team processes. Responsible for producing, updating, and implementing processes across teams.
- Manage projects within the product team including creating, monitoring and completion of project plans.
- Learn and understand filings to interpret product flexibility and opportunities and report information to product team and sales.
- Work with local and regional team to determine best practices and processes to improve efficiency within team.
- Maintain product catalogs for all portfolios
Product Analysis/Development and New Client Solutioning
- Develop new local and global client solutions by reaching out to appropriate teams to make sure the correct products are being offered to new and existing clients in a timely manner.
- Ensure products in partner contracting system are up-to-date at all times.
- Monitor market trends and analyze competitor offerings and share findings with sales, marketing, and senior management to ensure our products and services stay ahead of industry trends. Responsible for maintaining a library of competitive analysis and market intelligence.
- Work with marketing and compliance to ensure new marketing materials are accurate and appropriately reflect products.
- Work with product delivery team during product creation to ensure that all products are set up accurately in the system. Manage product updates as needed.
- Responsible for developing and creating several reoccurring product reports and modifying based on department needs.
- Create and edit ad hoc reports.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
- Bachelor's degree in Business or related field. Willing to consider a combination of education, training, and experience in lieu of degree.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in insurance and/or financial services industry.
- Ability to adapt to change, and work in a fast-paced, customer focused environment
- Possess a willingness and desire to collaborate with others
- Basic analytical and quantitative skills
- Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
- Knowledge/Experience with Jira and/or Confluence is a plus but not required
- Proficient with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Ability to document processes
- Experience implementing process improvements would be a plus
- Self-Starter with strong communication and collaboration skills
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Position is routinely expected to travel less than 5% of time.
