Form of workOur Faurecia Clarion Electronics division is looking for a Year-Round Product Line Intern to support the Product Line Team in Northville, MI! Position Description: Product Line Interns combine engineering, benchmarking and research skills to support the Product Line Team. While being mentored by a senior member of the Product Line Team, interns will get hands on experience with multiple facets of automotive electronics research/benchmarking and hardware/software design and development activities.
Activities can include but are not limited to: Technology benchmarking and analysis, competitor analysis, vehicle and component benchmarking, tear-down studies, hands-on demonstrator vehicle support, data analysis and component or integrated systems development support. Interns will typically support one or more experienced Product Line Managers or Engineers in performance of assignments, spend time shadowing actual operations, and have unique assignments that support larger projects as well as experience the day-to-day workings of e ngineering. Interns may perform and/or participate in additional activities/events which help them build a strong network within the Faurecia Clarion Electronics team.
Responsibilities With mentoring from a lead engineer or a manager: Assist in benchmarking and research activities for ADAS/Autonomous-focused vehicle technologies, interior automotive electronics and components. Create and manage benchmark reports and maintain site for collaborative sharing between regions. Track new technology developments in ADAS/Autonomous technologies and interior automotive electronics technologies, summarize key global technologies and innovations, create reports and periodically review findings with team members.
Maintain site for collaborative sharing between regions. Assist in demonstrator vehicle development/build activities including planning, component integration and vehicle calibration/diagnostics. Work with engineering team to track hardware/software development issues and update internal teams on progress and resolution.
Capture vehicle and/or module data during development using standard or customer specific tools. Assist in the design, development, and support of automotive electronic products. Be an excellent communicator both verbal and written.
Participate in periodic status, group and cross-functional meetings. Prepare activity reports and other assignments as determined by management. Required Skills Ability to work with multiple functions to coordinate the flow of information.
