POSITION OVERVIEW: The Product Development Sourcing Specialist works in conjunction with the Associate Product Manager to ensure timely and accurate design of new kits for customers. The position requires attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced atmosphere, the ability to creatively customize kit configuration to offer customers cost-effective options and provide consultative guidance to customers. The Product Development Engineering Specialist requires expertise in manufacturing engineering. This is a key role to help Path-Tec achieve its aggressive growth goals.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop new medical / laboratory specimen collection kits based on specific customer designs and medical test requirements
- Make effective decisions when presented with multiple options for how to progress with the project
- Continually develop manufacturing engineering best practices to support growth for new projects
- Drive improved product quality by identifying manufacturing issues, developing cost-effective solutions, and overseeing successful implementation into production.
- Work with Production Associates to resolve manufacturing and quality problems related to methods, processes, tooling, equipment, and product design.
- Effectively communicate with sales team and customer to identify customer pain points and present final solution.
- Work with existing and alternate vendors to drive down pricing of sourced items
- Driving LEAN product development and manufacturing practices
- Amend Bill of Material
- Revise or create new kit labeling and other printed materials
- Determine costs of new components and kits
- Maintain proper documentation of work
- Cross functional team collaboration
- Other duties as assigned
ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Strong manufacturing engineering skills, preferably with Healthcare experience
- Strong PC skills required including use of MS Office applications.
- Good communication skills, both oral and written.
- Highly detail oriented and follow through.
- Excellent organizational skills, able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and formalize through documentation.
- Self-starter with ability to manage time effectively
QUALIFICATIONS:
- College degree preferred
- Prior experience in manufacturing engineering
- Experience in product development, or custom manufacturing preferred.
- All prospective employees must pass a background and drug check.
