Job description

PPG seeks a Product Compliance Specialist! This position has accountability for the implementation and maintenance of compliance processes that support the development, sale, distribution, use and disposal of PPG products. As a member of the Corporate Product Compliance group, you would create new product SDS, perform updates to existing product SDS and lead all aspects of the creation/updating of warning labels for PPG products as well as serving as a corporate liaison for their product compliance related issues. Additionally, you would be a subject matter expert for moving current manual SDS authoring processes to automation to improve efficiency, accuracy and turn-around time in document creation and giving formulation control and MOC to PPG business units. This role will be based in Monroeville, PA - potential to work hybrid or remote. Come join our team!

Key Responsibilities

  • Program/data maintenance and enhancement in the functional subject areas of product hazard communication (e.g., SDS and Label development, Hazard Evaluation) and Customer Support through various applications in the Global Product Stewardship (GPS) system
  • Is responsible for the California Proposition 65 regulatory interpretation and its implementation within GPS on SDS and labels. Also coordinates the New Jersey Trade Secret program to assign numbers to substances/products and monitor expiration of existing trade secret numbers.
  • Assists with regulatory changes in GPS needed to align with changing global legislations through the creation of SDS/label templates and logic to drive output on these documents.
  • Proactively looks for opportunities to make a positive impact - challenges status quo and takes initiatives to motivate change.
  • Communicates well and has ability to influence different collaborators at all levels of the organization.
  • Uses knowledge and abilities to prioritize and focus on the most important initiatives.
  • Applies problem solving skills using standardized methods as well as ingenuity.
  • Uses Innovative thinking applied to variable situations requiring analytical, interpretive, evaluative, and/or constructive thinking.


Qualifications
  • Degree in science or EHS field and 5 years of proven experience in the PS/EHS field is desired.
  • Experience authoring Safety Data Sheets and working with international hazard communication regulations.
  • Good organizational and communication skills along with the ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Sophisticated problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
