As a result of our rapid growth, an exciting role for an experienced Procurement Engineer is now open. In this position, you will interpret engineering drawings, manage BOM costing, nurture new and existing vendor relationships, conduct negotiations, and establish agreements that meet the company's components' quality, cost, and delivery requirements. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage component pricing and BOM costing for a vast set of interrelated products.
- Developing and maintaining solid relationships with key vendors to ensure a reliable and efficient supply chain.
- Optimize make-or-buy decisions with proposals for alternative procurement methods and supply channels.
- Quality check incoming materials and components against specifications and work with vendors to address variations.
- Negotiate vendor terms for cost savings, quality improvements, and better lead times.
- Review requisitions and actively participate in the sourcing and procurement of new product prototypes with short lead times.
- Devise creative ways of improving quality, reducing lead times, and increasing optionality through alternative supply strategies.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in procurement and supplier management, preferably in the lighting fixtures industry.
- Expert-level experience in procurement, contract management, and supplier relationship management.
- Engineering background required. Able to read and interpret engineering prints and drawings and proficiency in navigating CAD software.
- Strong data analytics and process improvement skills.
- Advanced MIS skills, especially the use of Excel and ERP systems.
- Superior project management and organizational skills.
- You must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Education and Experience:
- Seven years of Procurement Engineering experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
