Process Engineer IV

Summary:
Lead small team of Process Engineers.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform design and sizing calculations for simpler equipment types without supervision.
- Perform design and sizing calculations for complex equipment types under minimal supervision.
- Identify process bottlenecks and devise solutions to resolve.
- Drive process changes or upgrades to improve functionality or efficiency.
- Interface with other disciplines and clients.
- Responsible for tracking and reporting budget and schedule on assigned project work for all team members.
- Review engineering and vendor drawings.
- Meets company quality assurance requirements for personal work assignments.
- Responsible for independently applying advanced engineering techniques and analysis within the discipline. Work at this level usually requires extensive progressive process experience, including work comparable to the journey level of engineering.
- Demonstrates a continuing consciousness of safety in daily activities and implemented in work design.
- Analytical skills for troubleshooting designs not working as planned, asking the right questions and finding answers that work.
- Ingenuity for using the broad concepts of chemical engineering and applying them to address specific problems.
- Interpersonal skills in developing positive working relationships with other employees working with the overall project execution process.
- Math skills for using the principals of advanced math topics including troubleshooting their work, calculus for analysis and design.
Job Qualifications:
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in Process or Chemical Engineering; Process preferred.
- 4 Year Degree in Engineering or Science from an ABET accredited institution – Required; degree in Chemical Engineering preferred.
- Intermediate experience with Industry Standard Engineering Simulation Software (Aspen, HySys, Pro II, and the like).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, PowerPoint and ability to work with data to generate periodic reports as may be needed.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit; climb, balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision depth perception, and ability to focus. Employee must be able to climb ladders as typically found in petrochemical facilities.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may periodically be required to travel to client job-sites, usually involving heavy industrial (chemical) production facilities and access to all areas of the facility. Therefore, the employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; the risk of electric shock; and sound levels within the typical industrial mitigation range.
